We prefer to invest alongside a company’s management team or with other sponsors and are willing to take either a majority or minority position. Our investments are typically used for growth capital or to provide liquidity for business owners. We focus on cash flow positive businesses with a competitive advantage in their market and strong barriers to entry. Additionally, each company must have a clear and actionable strategy for achieving future growth.

He has also helped many entrepreneurs in a variety of industries evaluate key strategic decisions such as acquisitions and outright sale. Through collaboration and mutual trust, he helps management teams develop a sound business plan and then execute on a targeted growth strategy. He also spends time evaluating the talent in each organization. With the CEO, they ensure that everyone has clearly defined goals and expectations. Importantly, they ensure that each has the resources to be successful.
Serene Capital Management was established in 2011 by its Managing Partner, Scott Lavinia, who has had a successful career in a variety of professional services industries such as private equity, hedge funds, consulting and private wealth management.
Mr. Lavinia earned his bachelor’s degree from the Boston College Carroll School of Management and his MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
